FEBRUARY : WOMAN'S HISTORY MONTH: FEATURED PERFORMERS
THIS MONTH is National Woman's History Month, so in honor of this historic occasion, we have partnered with Beast Woman Productions to fill out our line up with tons of talented women AND "appreciators of women"! Some of which include: Stacy Fox, Molly Meacham, Emily Lake, Leslie Lee, Janet Kane, The Mojdeh Project, Robin Fine!

Janet Kane has been hosting the "Cafe Cabaret" at Ballou with jazz singer, Roberta Miles for some time now. She is a local producer with a addiction to musical comedy! Janet has been called the "Maven of Mischief" because of her silly antics & wit. She is a repeat "Beast Woman," and is proud of it too!
Emily Lake charms audiences all over Chicago with her keen observations and witty rhetoric on dating, relationships, and small town life. Her comedy has been described as "infectious" by many, because of her conversational tone and delivery . With Emily, you just sit back and laugh as she welcomes you into the secret life of a single girl in the big city.
From the Nabraska Chicago, Stacy Fox is a local transplant into the local community! She competed in the National Poetry Slam in Austin, TX - just before relocating to the home of the first poetry slam! She's an educator and an active community motivator!
Molly Meacham, a teacher in the Chicago public school system, is a fixture in poetry slam circles. She is part of the Promethean Theatre Ensemble and teaches Shakespeare with a not-for-profit organization, the Viola Project. Molly also recently hosted the 2010 Chicago Woman's Poetry Slam, at the Green Mill.
The Mojdeh Project, is fronted by 4x award winning writer & performer, Mojdeh Stoakley. President of Lethal Poetry & executive producer of several events like Outspoken festival & Nights of Sight & Sound. The Mojdeh Project will bring poetry to life through music and building soundscapes. They are also proud "Beast Women" for the first time!
Leslie Lee, ‘The Queen Bee of Comedy’, has moved quickly from college radio & community theater to bigger stage & film work, she is most at home in an intimate setting where she can interact with her audience. There’s been no stopping Leslie Lee! Known for her prurient parodies of popular songs, her stand-up act combines her love of traditional musicals with witty bon mots and self-deprecating humor. Her motto? ‘Just tell me when to show up and hand me a microphone!’ She also writes erotica and children's books, but not at the same time. Leslie is also a repeat "Beast Woman", so beware!
Robin Fine, really hit her stride as a performance poet when in her first season with Beast Women. Robin is well known for her erotic poetics. Though she weaves a great deal of humor into her pieces about being a "voluptuous" lover!
