Comedy & Poetry Showcase & SLAM| March 18 | 7-9pm | LILLY'S BAR | 2513 N LINCOLN Lethal Poetry has turned WORDS THAT KILL into a showcase & slam! We've just introduced the "OMNI SLAM!" We still intend on taking a team to the National Poetry Slam in 2010, BUT we will also welcome any performers that focus thier work in literary performance to compete in the slam as well (i.e comedians, story tellers, theatrical performances, etc). Whatever you do, keep in mind that it should be a 3min or less monolog-type performane. Please arrive 6:45 to sign up for the OMNI slam! Cover is $5 or FREE! IF you bring canned goods for us to donate to a Chicago Women's Shelter. Remember to bring friends, because THE MORE PEOPLE WE HAVE THE MORE PEOPLE WE FEED! THIS MONTH is National Woman's History Month, so in honor of this historic occasion, we have partnered with Beast Woman Productions to fill out our line up with tons of talented women AND "appreciators of women"! Night of Sight & Sound with Saul Williams | March 27 | Kinetic Playground NIGHT OF SIGHT & SOUND is a multidisciplinary art exhibition and performance benefit that occurs quarterly. The event is always partnered with a non-profit beneficiary. There will be visual art, live painters, DJs, film, live music, dance & poetry performances. WBEZ & Worldview's GLOBAL ACTIVISM FEST | APRIL 17 | 12pm | Chicago, IL Lethal Poetry's has parntered with Chicago Public Radio & Worldview again to produce all of the performances at the 2010 GLOBAL ACTIVISM EXPO! Last year, the attendance was 4x what it was in it's first year! This year we expect 5,000+ attendies! This FREE event is hosted by Worldview’s Jerome McDonnell! The doors open at noon and the event runs until 6pm. Come and enjoy some delicious food, meet over 100 Chicago-area Global Activists, and enjoy a performance series produced by yours truly (Lethal Poetry).
